Summary

In the #1 New York Times bestseller The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be, Joanna Gaines and illustrator Julianna Swaney celebrate how creativity and acceptance can come together to make for a bright and beautiful adventure。 The book follows a group of children as they each build their very own hot-air balloons。 As the kids work together, leaning into their own skills and processes, to fill the sky with beautiful colors, we discover that the same is true for life—it's more beautiful and vibrant when our differences are celebrated。

Together with Joanna, you and your kids will take a journey of growth and imagination as you learn in full color that:

• We should celebrate every child's one-of-a-kind strengths as well as teamwork and acceptance of differences

• Everything can be made more beautiful when we share our talents and abilities

• We should lend a helping hand and do our best to take care of one another

The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be is a vibrant picture book perfect for:

• Ages 4-8

• Parents, libraries, classroom story times, and discussions about diversity and being a good human being

• Households that enjoy watching Chip and Joanna on Magnolia Network and HGTV's Fixer Upper

With plenty of pink, a bounty of blue, orange and green and yellow too, this vibrant hot-air balloon adventure celebrates every child and teaches kids that we are in this together。 "You're one of a kind, and it's so clear to see: The world needs who you were made to be。"

I think this book was a very nice book because it had a good message and the pictures were very nice。 It was about being yourself。 The moral of this story was to be yourself because if you act like other people, then nobody will like you。 If you be yourself, then people will be nice to you。 We are all unique so if people need help with something that nobody knows about, you might know how to do that。

Lovely book。 Absolutely lovely just like the author。 A great gift for any child, especially one who doubts why they are here or wonders what it's like to feel special, loved, and needed。 Lovely book。 Absolutely lovely just like the author。 A great gift for any child, especially one who doubts why they are here or wonders what it's like to feel special, loved, and needed。 。。。more

Do you want your kid to be more accepting of others unique qualities and characteristics? Honestly, this is a great book choice to expose your child to a positive attitude。 This should be the new social norm。 I love that the author organzied the texts in different locations of the pages。 It forced the reader to shift their focus and follow the images。 The fact that this story was centered around the craft of making a Hot air Balloon made it even more better (I love the idea of hot air balloons)。 Do you want your kid to be more accepting of others unique qualities and characteristics? Challenge: Book-A-Day in May (9/31)。 The author's second book for children; this one helps children to understand that approaching life and the things we do in our own unique and different ways are all needed in the world。 That there is no one correct way to do something as long as we live our lives with grace, kindness, compassion, and the courage to do the best we can。 Using the construction of air balloons to fill the sky, Joanna's story, as illustrated by Julianna Swaney, provides a colorful Challenge: Book-A-Day in May (9/31)。 The author's second book for children; this one helps children to understand that approaching life and the things we do in our own unique and different ways are all needed in the world。 That there is no one correct way to do something as long as we live our lives with grace, kindness, compassion, and the courage to do the best we can。 Using the construction of air balloons to fill the sky, Joanna's story, as illustrated by Julianna Swaney, provides a colorful project that depicts all of the different ways that we work and solve problems creatively and intellectually。 A nice addition to Gaines' previous book on children as gardeners。 。。。more

A super cute book about how it's okay to be different, and that differences make us important, in addition that we can all work together no matter what。No rating found。 A super cute book about how it's okay to be different, and that differences make us important, in addition that we can all work together no matter what。No rating found。 。。。more

Great story about how everyone works differently but at the end of the day the is who they are and will still get the job done。 Loved the simple colors and illustrations that helped keep the story flowing and very engaging。 Recommend this book for all readers of all ages。

Grade Level: K-5I really love this book for students of all ages! The book follows along with students building a hot air balloon and takes note of how different students start the project in different ways。 It celebrates diversity and how we can all come together in our own unique ways to create something beautiful。This book can not only be tied to diversity but also would be a great segway into a conversation surrounding how society needs all kinds of people in varying career fields to run fun Grade Level: K-5I really love this book for students of all ages! I love this book! I love how it focuses on different personalities instead of physical characteristics。 It shows all personalities have value and are needed。 It rhymes which I adore a good rhyming book。

Just a little too preachy for me but I can see why others love it。 Maybe I'll like it better reading it with kids。 Just a little too preachy for me but I can see why others love it。 Maybe I'll like it better reading it with kids。 。。。more

While this book did remind me of "Oh the Places You'll Go" (AKA perfect for a graduating gift, new baby, etc。), it was better than I expected。 Once again, I was worried because, you know, that whole celebrity written thing。 But the illustrations are lovely and the book made me smile。 While this book did remind me of "Oh the Places You'll Go" (AKA perfect for a graduating gift, new baby, etc。), it was better than I expected。 Once again, I was worried because, you know, that whole celebrity written thing。 But the illustrations are lovely and the book made me smile。 。。。more

An okay picture book with okay drawings。 At times this book felt like a politically correct book with all the positive wording they could find。 That made it for me a little over the top。

Ender

A visual celebration of diversity and identity mixed with lovely rhymes。

I was hoping this would be a Christian book, but it doesn’t mention how God created us or His plan for our lives。 It’s still a cute book about different learning styles that would be perfect for reading at the beginning of the school year。 And kids can design their own hot air balloons to represent themselves。

The cover looked a bit Dr。Seuss-like - Oh the Places You'll Go - but I was surprised to conclude that the text and illustrations are really good。 Read it for Pre-K storytime and it went well。 The cover looked a bit Dr。Seuss-like - Oh the Places You'll Go - but I was surprised to conclude that the text and illustrations are really good。 Read it for Pre-K storytime and it went well。 。。。more

This book is so fun for students。 I read this to my kindergarten students for a read aloud and they absolutely loved it。 I am all about positive affirmations for children! This book is a really creative way for children to hear those affirmations。 I think it would be really fun to keep those affirmations going throughout your classroom with themes and lessons。

Elizabeth

What a beautiful book!
